Technicians service machines to advance customer satisfaction. This entails R & I (remove & install), diagnosing, disassembling, assembling, and performing failure analysis on all Caterpillar equipment. It includes engines, hydraulics, power trains, electrical systems, HVAC, and transmissions.

Technicians must be able to …

• Troubleshoot and test machine systems, compare test results to specifications to determine if the system is working as designed and perform any necessary repairs.
• Use computer-based service manuals, diagnostic software and Service Information Systems to correctly address technical issues and place parts orders as required.
• Write complete and factual service reports.
• Evaluate parts to determine reusability and cause of failure.
• Be a life long learner.

If you have an Associates of Applied Science, Advance Technical Certificate, or Technical Certificate and/or degree in Heavy Equipment and Transportation Technology or Welding, preferably from an AED accredited institution, please consider submitting an application to Western States Equipment Company. Candidates must be able to establish andmaintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, employees and the public. An acceptable driving record is required for some positions. Knowledge of Microsoft® computer products and/or other comparable systems, and keyboarding skills are preferred.
