In 1971, Western States opened the first equipment Fluid and Wear Analysis Laboratory in the western United States. Scheduled Oil Sampling (S.O.S) detects component wear, contamination and additive depletion in engines, transmissions, final drives, hydraulic systems, cooling systems, fuel systems and other vital areas. The Lab interprets and evaluates samples and makes recommendations specific to each sample area on a machine. Wear materials and other contaminants have unique infrared absorption signatures that can be identified, measured and tracked. These reports can identify hidden problems, and be used to monitor compartment health so you can schedule maintenance accordingly. The S.O.S Lab is one of the maintenance tools offered by Western States Cat to help reduce downtime and operating costs for equipment and engines.
